Singaraja. A laboratory that carries out testing or calibration activities is declared a competent laboratory if the laboratory has been accredited by an accreditation body, namely the National Accreditation Committee (KAN). To be accredited, the laboratory must apply the ISO/IEC 17025 standard as a guide for carrying out its activities. As we already know, currently this international standard has just been updated to become ISO/IEC 17025:2017. These changes mean that the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard has fully adopted a High-Level Structure (HLS). In addition, laboratories are also asked to take action to overcome risks and opportunities according to clause 8.5 in ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
In preparation for ISO/IEC 17025;2017 Laboratory Accreditation, the Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Ganesha Education University again held an ISO/IEC 17025 Personnel Training Workshop and Phase I Implementation for Laboratory Personnel which was held for three days from March 6 – 8 2024 took place in the Seminar Room, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Ganesha Education University with resource persons/speakers in this training activity, namely Mr Drs. Adnan Rahman, M.Pd from Globe Consulting Indonesia. The training participants are laboratory personnel from several study program lecturers within the scope of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Ganesha Education University. The training focuses on understanding ISO/IEC 17025;2017 and Laboratory Implementation to meet the Testing Laboratory Competency Requirements Based on ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
The training was officially opened on March 6 by the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Dr. I Wayan Sukra Warpala, S.Pd., M.Sc, Laboratory Accreditation is an effort to support increased sample testing from external parties so that it has an impact on increasing Undiksha’s integrating income. This also supports Undiksha as a state university with a legal entity (PTNBH). Supporting this, the implementation of ISO 17025 is very important in laboratories, and it is hoped that through this activity participants will be able to know the clauses in ISO/IEC 17025:2017, understand the interpretation of these clauses and their implementation in the Laboratory Quality Management System can be strengthened in the workshop this, he said (fmipa)
