Singaraja. Hybrid Academic Seminar which was organized by the Biology Education Study Program and Biology Study Program, Department of Marine Biology and Fisheries, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Ganesha Education University on Thursday (9/12/2021), aims to examine the science of ethnobiology in more detail. deep. This seminar took the theme “The Role of Ethnobiology in an Education and Conservation Perspective”, and invited 3 professors, including Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suryadarma (Yogyakarta State University), Prof. Dr. Nyoman Wijana, M.Sc. (Ganesha University of Education), and Prof. Dr. Putu Budi Adnyana, M.Sc. (Ganesha University of Education).
The seminar was opened by Deputy Dean II FMIPA UNDIKSHA Dr. I Gusti Lanang Wiratma, M.Si, who was attended by invitations from internship partner agencies (Buleleng Regency Environmental Service, Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation, Food and Drug Monitoring Center in Denpasar, UPTD, Bali Province Food Crop and Horticulture Master Seed Center, Plant Conservation Center Eka Karya Bali Botanical Gardens); teaching assistance partners (SMAN 1 Singaraja, High School Laboratory Undiksha Singaraja; SMAN Bali Mandara); student exchange partners (Biology Education Study Program, Semarang State University, Biology Education Study Program, Surabaya State University, Biology Education Study Program, Jember State University). This activity was opened by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and was attended by 185 participants from various institutions including students, lecturers, teachers, and agency staff.
This activity was very well received by the participants, which could be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in discussions and question-and-answer activities with resource persons regarding topics related to the local wisdom of the Hindu community in Bali. This seminar activity is hoped that it can open up new insights and knowledge for the participants regarding ethnobiology and its relationship to local Balinese cultural wisdom.
