Wednesday, 11/9/2022, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Ganesha Education University held an online guest lecture attended by the Dean and Deputy Dean, Head of Department, Study Program Coordinator as well as Lecturers and Students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Ganesha Education University. This time’s Guest Lecture took the theme “Collaborative Research Management for Productive Research Partnerships” with speaker Mrs. Aiyen Tjoa.
Aiyen Tjoa is a teacher and researcher who encourages and facilitates various research and educational collaborations at national and international levels at Tadulako University, Palu. Aiyen won the master’s in soil biology and plant nutrition relations at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen-Denmark, and a Ph.D. in plant nutrition from the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart-Germany.
Aiyen Tjoa studies the field of growth, the relationship between growing media (chemistry and biology), and the relationship between nutrients and non-nutrients (especially heavy metals) on plant growth, with main expertise in the field of agromining/phytomining. Research is aimed at understanding the physiology and morphology of plants to increase production and quality of agricultural products, and education in the agricultural sector. Every year he contributes to international publications, is the main speaker at various seminars, and is also active as a supervisor for international doctoral and doctoral students.
Aiyen Tjoa actively initiates and coordinates various international research and education collaboration projects, including the ADB project, Asia-Link, various Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus +, and DFG projects in Indonesia. In a long-term international research collaboration funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation), CRC 552/STORMA and CRC 990/EFForTS, between IPB, Tadulako University, Jambi University, and the University of Göttingen, not only involved as a researcher but also active in the management of collaborative research, as a board member and coordinator.
Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suparta, M.Si, expressed his gratitude for Mrs. Aiyen Tjoa’s willingness in the midst of her busy schedule, she was willing to share knowledge in a guest lecture at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Undiksha and always has a desire for a collaborative program in improving the quality of the institution, I hope this activity can be useful and can increase research development in the future and it is hoped that the research output will have a broad impact,” he said (fmipa)
