Singaraja. Towards the end of the year, the Undiksha Mathematics Department Student Association is carrying out the 2022 Mathematics Cup This activity was carried out on the Bhuwana Patra GOR field and lasted for two days, namely on Sunday, 04 December 2022 and Saturday, 10 December 2022. The aim of carrying out this activity was, among other things, improving Volleyball achievements and fostering a sense of brotherhood within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Apart from that, through this activity it is hoped that students can improve sportsmanship in the FMIPA environment.
The 2022 Cup This activity was opened by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, FMIPA Undiksha. He really supports this activity program in order to improve achievements at FMIPA, especially in the field of sports. The implementation of this activity is an effort to provide a positive space for students to improve their achievements and sportsmanship as well as foster brotherhood through Volleyball Competitions and Supporter Competitions within the FMIPA environment.
You can see the enthusiasm of the students in supporting each team. They do this in various ways, such as cheering, singing with drums, waving flags, putting up banners, and so on. Even though they were tired, all the teams fought to beat their opponents and win the championship. The 2022 Mathematics Cup XVI competition system uses the Double Knockout system or knockout system. After the first day’s matches ended, it was continued with the final and semifinal matches on the following day.
“Hopefully the re-holding of the Mathematics Cup can revive students’ enthusiasm for competing in volleyball with other students in the FMIPA environment. So that later it will be easier to find students who have interests and talents when there are competitions related to sports. “Regarding preparations for the Mathematics Cup, this started in September, for three months we tried to prepare it as best as possible and it’s a blessing that this activity went smoothly,” said I Putu Andha Yana, Chair of the Mat Cup Committee.
On the second day, the volleyball match not only involved students but also invited alumni and lecturers from the Mathematics Department to play in entertainment matches. At the end of the event, the winners of the Volleyball competition in the men’s and women’s categories and the supporter competition were announced. This competition was won by a team from the Biomerish Contingent (HMJ Biology, Fisheries, and Marine) and immediately won the 2022 Mathematics Cup XVI trophy. In closing, HMJ Mathematics performed a dance and continued with a door prize draw. (FMIPA)
