Nusa Dua- Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) held the International Conference on Mathematics and Natural Sciences (IConMNS). The conference, which opened on October 9 2023 in Nusa Dua, Badung, collaborates with the Leading University Project for International Cooperation (LUPIC). This conference carries the theme “Optimizing Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Advancing Education and Research for Sustainable Development”.
The scope of this 4th conference covers various fields of study, namely chemistry, physics, mathematics, computing science, marine science, life sciences, environmental science, computer science, mathematics education, physics education, chemistry education, and biology education.
Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I who opened the event expressed his appreciation for the re-holding of this conference. According to him, this is a space for researchers and academics to share knowledge and ideas and discuss the latest advances in Mathematics and Natural Sciences and these advances can be used to promote education and research for sustainable development. “We need to continue to maintain this, sustain it so that the research results we have can be published,” he said.
Apart from this conference, it is hoped that superior research results produced by researchers can be disseminated to a wider audience, one of which is through scientific journals.
Prof. Rasben Dantes also hopes that through holding this conference, collaboration can be built between the Undiksha MIPA faculty and other universities in research and other fields. “This conference is not only for sharing knowledge. “But it also opens up opportunities for collaboration between FMIPA and various universities, both at home and abroad,” he added.
This conference presented 4 main speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Ingo Eilks from Bremen University, Prof. Dr. Won Koo Lee from Sogang University, Prof. Satoshi Ohkura, Ph.D from the Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences, Nagoya University and Associate Prof. Dr. Roslan Hasni from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, as well as 7 scientists as invited speakers, namely Prof. Dr I Nengah Suparta, M.Si (Graph Labelings, Undiksha), Prof. Dr. Hadi Suwono (Biology Education, UM), Prof. Dr. Wiyanto (Sciences Education, Unnes), Dr. Yanti Yulianti, M.Si (Physics, Unila), Dr. Emmy Yuanita, M.Si (Chemistry, Unram), Dr. Eng. Luther Alexander Latumakulita, S.Si., M.Kom (Marine Science, Unsrat), Prof. Xiang. Yang Ye, Ph.D (Chemistry, Hangzhou Normal University). They are representatives of researchers from Malang State University, Mataram University, Lampung University, Sam Ratulangi University Manado, and Lambung Mangkurat University.
The participants at this conference consisted of dozens of people who were representatives of researchers from Malang State University, Mataram University, Lampung University, Sam Ratulangi University Manado, Lambung Mangkurat University, and the Ganesha University of Education itself.
Chair of the 4th IConMNS committee and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. I Wayan Puja Astawa, S.Pd., M.Stat.Sci also expressed his thanks to all parties involved in this activity because this activity ran smoothly and successfully. (FMIPA)
