Finally, the long wait has paid off, 4 study programs (Prodi) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Ganesha Education University (UNDIKSHA) have achieved International Accreditation visitationAgency for Quality Assurance by Accreditation of Study (AQAS) Germany on Wednesday-Thursday 08-09 February 2023. The 4 study programs undergoing AQAS accreditation include Bachelor of Science Education, Bachelor of Chemistry, Bachelor of Science Education, and Master of Science Education study programs. This activity, which was held in the FMIPA Seminar Room, was attended by civitas academics such as staff, Deans, Study Program Coordinators, Lecturers, Interpreter Quality Assurance Unit Team, Students, Alumni, and Assessors from Germany and also from Indonesia.
The AQAS visit presented several experts to assess the quality of study programs. ParaExpert These come from various institutions such as Prof. Dr. Inggo Eilks, from Bremen University, institute of Didactics of Science Education Chemistry Department, Prof. Dr. Joachim Vegener from Regensburg University, Institute of Analytical Chemistry, Ms. Pesta Augustina Martin, from the Teacher at Global Selamat School complex in Jakarta (Labor market Representative), and Mr. Albrecht Matin Bloße, Student at Leipzig University (student representative) and 2 AQAS Consultants, namely Ms. Doris Herrmann and Ms. Maria Rentmeister.
According to the FMIPA Undiksha International Accreditation Coordinator, Dr. I Wayan Sukra Warpala, M.Sc, explained that all activities related to the visitation had been carefully prepared in the form starting from the Faculty strategy, study program profile, curriculum strength, quality of students, alumni, staff and lecturers. “Accreditation is a means to continue to improve the quality, processes, and outcomes of learning and we must pursue that standard,” he said
The first activity, Wednesday (08/02/2023) began with a discussion of the Expert Panel and AQAS Consultant with the Dean’s Staff, continued with discussions with the teaching staff of the undergraduate chemistry education study program, and then ended with a field assessment or inspection of infrastructure, laboratories within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Next, on the second day, Thursday (09/02/2023), there was a discussion with the teaching staff of the Undergraduate Chemistry study program, followed by students and alumni, after which it was continued with a review of evidence (document examination) by experts. After examining the documents, the assessors continued the discussion with the undergraduate teaching staff in the science education study program and the master’s teaching staff in the science education study program, after which they continued with the graduate users.
In line with the Coordinator of AQAS FMIPA Undiksha, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suparta, M. Si, “The overall visitation went smoothly and maximum efforts were made. Thank you very much for all the help from all parties who have participated during the preparation and implementation of this AQAS International Accreditation visitation activity. We hope that the results obtained will be as expected by everyone. We would like to thank the Aqas assessors for assessing and discussing with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Undiksha for two days.
