Singaraja – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA), Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (UNDIKSHA) held curriculum development workshop for (D4) Applied Chemistry Study Program and the (D4) Fisheries Biotechnology Study Program, Friday, September, 23rd 2022. This follow increased status from (D3) in its two study programs.
The workshop that took place at the Puri Saron Hotel, Buleleng followed by two guest speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Haryanti, M.S., from the Research Center Fisheries, National Research and Innovation Agency and I Nyoman Gede Suma Artha from CV. Balizen, PT. Supa Dupa Spice.
Chairman Committee, Dr. Gede Agus Beni Widana, M.Si., said that this workshop held until September 24th, 2022, followed by lecturer, offender business and industry, as well alumni. “We hope material presented by businessman and input from perpetrator business and industry could produce curriculum that can prepare adaptive graduates,” he said.
This event was opened by the Vice Dean UNDIKSHA, Academic and Collaboration, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He represented Rector give appreciation to faculty and product that has done the curriculum development for D4 Applied Chemistry Study Program and D4 Fishery Biotechnology Study Program. “We hope this curriculum of study program get input from related stake holders,” he said.
He gave description related necessary things accommodated in curriculum development namely Compulsory Courses given to students such as religion education, Indonesian language, Pancasila and citizenship. There is Compulsory Courses in the form of English and Tri Hita Karana or Three Causes to Prosperity Philosophy “Tri Hita Karana as one of embodiment UNDIKSHA’s vision become a leading University based Tri Hita Karana or Three Causes to Prosperity Philosophy in Asia by 2045. All students of UNDIKSHA, diploma or bachelor in applied and bachelor in education got Tri Hita Karana course, so that they know how build good character, keep connecting with each other, take care harmony with God, and keep environment around,” he said.
Furthermore, based on the national standard of higher education, students of bachelor in applied required for participating in the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka or Freedom to Learn – Independent Campus (MBKM). The students have opportunity of 3 semesters for outside activities study program “So, I recommend to all friends as what we have structured the curriculum 2019, we attempted to give competence supporters for bachelor in applied with they take cross study program courses in the university. The inside of faculty nor outside of faculty. So, cross study courses program must not be taken outside of faculty but they can take internally by the faculty,” he said.
Furthermore, students also have the right to get industry experience corresponding with competence through an internship program for at least 1 semester. “Besides that, many activities as well as MBKM programs, such as exchange student because we will do equivalence to courses programmed in each study program, “he added. Through this experience, students especially D4 of Applied Chemistry Study Program and D4 of Fishery Biotechnology Study Program could become superior and empowered competitive graduates in the future.
